Unsually Small And Useful Early Nineteenth Century Antique Whatnot

£1,200    $1,626    €1,414
This whatnot or etagere is usually small which makes it extremely useful to serve as a wine table or lamp table at the arm of a chair or sofa. It is an especially fine example being made of solid rosewood and with especially decorative slender turned supports with good sharp turned detail which terminate with fine quality small brass cups and casters. One interesting thing about this one is that, being solid rosewood, the reverse side of the shelves gives a clue as to the colour that it may have been two hundred years ago. There is a previous historical repair to one of the legs which can probably be improved with restoration, please ask for details before purchase.
