Description

Alfred Henry VICKERS (1834-1919): a typical fine Landscape by this well-known artist, which depicts a Continental lakeside scene, with a village complete with its church on one bank, and a large country "Stately Home" on the other side. Fully signed, lower left corner. 24ins x 37ins including the frame. (61 x 94cms)

** Alfred Henry VICKERS was a well-travelled painter of European landscapes, primarily around England and the near-continent. His father died when he was just three years old, therefore it is likely that he was trained by his Grandfather who was also a landscape painter. He died in Islington, aged 85.
