Description

A fantastic early 19th century oil painting of a game larder; with indistinct signature, almost certainly by Benjamin Blake (1756-1830) or Stephen Taylor (fl1817-1849). A finely executed painting, the detail is superb. Circa 1810-1820. Oil on canvas.

 

A wonderful painting, presented in excellent condition throughout, having been relined and reframed.

 

Sold with correspondence from Sotheby’s and Christie’s, dated 1999.
