Description

Robert Lesley Howey 1900-1981.Robert was the son of the well known amateur artist John William Howey,Staithes Group artist.He was born in West Hartlepool and after studying at art school he became a professional artist working in Hartlepool.He exhibited his works at the Royal Scottish Academy and the Laing Art Gallery,Newcastle.He is particularly well known for his coast and Lake District scenes. ‘Derwentwater’ signed oil on board, image size 50x60 cms, framed size 55x65 cms.Provenance:with the Hawkeshead Gallery,Ambleside.
