FAQs

Art Deco sculpture emerged in France during the 1920s, heavily influenced by the 1925 Exposition Internationale des Arts Decoratifs et Industriels Modernes, blending modernist abstraction with classical proportions.

Authentic period pieces frequently combined cast bronze, often with silver or gilt patination, mounted on multifaceted bases of imported marbles such as Portoro, onyx, or slate.

Authenticity is determined by examining foundry marks, signature stampings, the weight and quality of the lost-wax bronze casting, and the age-related patination of both the metal and the stone base.

Position the piece on a clean-lined surface such as a mahogany sideboard or a minimalist mantelpiece where its dynamic silhouette and contrasting materials can serve as a focal point.

Dust gently with a soft, dry microfibre cloth and periodically apply a microcrystalline wax to protect the bronze patina, avoiding all liquid cleaners and harsh abrasives.
