Early 19th century Grand Tour patinated bronze of Spinario on a Sienna and black marble plinth base, after the original Greco-Roman Hellenistic sculpture in the Palazzo dei Conservatori, Capitoline Museum, Rome. Depicting a boy withdrawing a thorn from the sole of his foot it is often referred to as the Boy with the Thorn or Fedele (Fedelino). Remains of an original hand written label to the base.
