William Raymond DOMMERSEN (1859-1927).

A fine gilt-framed oil painting on canvas. A Dutch riverscape scene with both sailing and rowing boats, some with passengers. A castle on the riverbank and a church in the background.

William Raymond DOMMERSEN: is well known to have painted prolifically between 1875-1927, usually landscapes, marine and riverscape scenes, but also town scenes, all exceptional quality. His better-known works are of European villages and towns along canals and rivers (as in this instance). He painted mainly in Netherlands and England, but also visited Belgium, France and Italy, travelling from his base in Royal Tunbridge Wells.

Signed to the lower right corner.

A peaceful well-painted and structured painting in a gilt frame. In good condition. Some scuffing to the frame. Ready to hang.
