An early 19th century oil painting on canvas, ‘A View at the back of Delves House, Ringmer, Lewes, Sussex’, by William George Jennings (1763-1854), of a farm cottage in a rolling landscape with sheep in the foreground, and a pond with figures on the bank, and trees under and sunlit sky, framed in a period gilt frame with a beaded edge and darted slip, and bearing an old label to the stretcher, English, circa 1820 or earlier. Image size: 12.75” by 16.5” (32.5cm x 42cm)Condition: Overall very good, the painting is in very good condition and has at some point in the last forty-fifty years been cleaned and relined, the frame is in reasonable condition with solid mitres and some losses to the outer edge, the painting appears clean and the colours good.
