Born in Manchester in 1844, Herbert Moxon Cook lived in London before moving to Prestatyn in North Wales where he painted coastal scenes and landscapes in both watercolour and oils. He exhibited 5 works at the Royal Academy, 15 at the Glasgow Institute, 6 at the Royal Scottish Academy, 13 at the Royal Society of Artists, Birmingham, 20 at Liverpool’s Walker Gallery and at other prestigious galleries and institutions in the UK.
