This piece is an Islamic style glass jug dating from 1900 in an Islamic Revival style, produced in Austria by Lobmeyr. The body is formed from teal coloured glass with a transparent finish, complemented by an applied loop handle on one side and a flared circular foot at the base. The surface displays extensive wheel-engraved arabesques and arched scrollwork patterns circling the neck, body, and foot. The vessel measures 17.5 cm high, 10 cm wide, and 10 cm deep. In a contemporary interior, this jug functions as a decorative display object on a sideboard top. The intricate engraved motifs catch the light, making it suitable for placement in a dining room, living area, or display cabinet where the glasswork remains visible. The teal hue and detailed scrollwork integrate with eclectic or maximalist settings while functioning as a standalone decorative piece.

Islamic Revival glassware features decorative elements influenced by historic Middle Eastern ceramics, metalwork, and architecture, incorporating geometric patterns, arabesques, and intricate arch motifs onto blown glass forms.

These vessels were typically formed from hand-blown lead or soda-lime glass coloured with metallic oxides, followed by fine wheel-engraving or copper-wheel carving to produce detailed surface patterns.

Authentic pieces often feature fine wheel-engraved makers marks or initials near the base, exceptionally crisp copper-wheel engraving, smooth polished pontil marks, and precise glass tinting characteristic of Viennese production.

Coloured glass vessels function effectively as decorative focal points on sideboards, open shelving, or window sills where natural light highlights the coloured transparency and engraved surface detail.

Clean gently by hand using lukewarm water and mild dish liquid, avoiding harsh chemical cleaners, abrasive pads, and dishwashers, which can cloud the glass surface or cause thermal shock.
