Edgar Hunt was born in Birmingham in 1876.
His work is meticulous with not a feather or hair out of place. His style is instantly recognisable and remained very much in demand by his patrons throughout his career, many of whom were nostalgic for the simple country life of the days before the Industrial Revolution. His paintings are easily relatable and the intrinsic detail he paints elicits a strong emotional response when studying the animals he so charmingly paints and his own lifelong devotion to animals shines through. He exhibited at the Royal Society of Artists and at the Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool. Hunt died in 1953.
