This scene is a delightful coastal scene, believed to be of St Micheals Mount, Mounts Bay, Nr Penzance, Cornwall (where he is known to have visited), with fishing and other small seacraft in choppy waters.

George F. Gregory (1849-1938) painted predominantly marines and was the son of Charles Gregory (q.v.). He did not exhibit in London. He lived and worked on the Isle of Wight and made occasional journeys abroad.
