Antique Indian Gouache Painting Rajasthan 19th Century Ganesha

Description

This is a good 19th century Indian painting in gouache of Ganesha and attendants in a garden dating from around 1880.

The picture is superbly painted and has delightful pastel colours. Ganesha leads a troop of beautifully dressed Indian girls with his enigmatic giant pet rat dressed in finery.

The piece has a deep pink mount framed in a lovely plain rose gold frame that compliments the painting.

The frame measures 32 cms by 22 cms overall.

Rams Head Antiques is a family business based in Wolsingham in Weardale where we have had shop premises for 28 years. The shop is generally open every Saturday from 11 am till 3 pm.
