Description

John Henry Henshall RWS 1856-1928.Painter of genre and historic subjects in oil and watercolour,the latter often very large,the subjects highly dramatic and full of sentiment.Educated at S.Kensington Schools and RA Schools.Exhibited from 1879 at the RA,SS,RSW,Salon and elsewhere.ARWS in 1883;RWS 1897.His paintings were purchased by Birmingham,Leeds,Hull,Manchester,Bristol,Preston and Blackpool for permanent collections. ‘ The Rest Day’ signed watercolourdated 1918,image size 77x55 cms,framed size 103x81.5 cms.

This is a superb large example of the artists work housed in its original Watts style frame
