Branwhite regularly exhibited at the British Institution (1843-76), the Royal Academy (1845-1856) and the Society of Painters in Watercolours, of which he was elected an associate member on 12 February 1849. Branwhite specialised in winter scenes, river scenes, and views in the West Country, Wales, Scotland, and on the Thames. This piece is a lovely little example of the artist’s work in miniature and is ready to hang. C.1870.
