A fine and decorative landscape oil on artist board by Sylvie Plessy. The painting is very impressionistic in style with the use of thick impasto oils and bright primary colours. The scene is that of a landscape looking over a field to a village in the distance with the sun rising behind the houses and a large tree on the left. It is an exploration of light and colour and works very well. The painting is signed to the lower right 'Plessy' and dated 1927, the signature is most likely for Sylvie Plessy. The painting has been professionally cleaned and is in excellent condition. The painting retains the original gilt frame which is extremely good quality and in good untouched condition. The whole makes a dramatic decorative impact and is ready to hang.
