Quiet Street Antiques of Bath has dated this piece to the 19th Century.
A fine example of turn of the Century landscape painting, showing a softly trickling river, running over rocks through the highlands with silver birch trees at the banks, slowly changing to their autumnal orange. Signed to the lower right corner and presented in its original gilt slip frame.

Excellent brushwork. Well composed and atmospheric view of tumbling highland water. Bright colours, canvas and paint in good condition, little if any cracking. Presented in original gilt slip frame.
Robert Scott-Temple travelled widely.
