Subject portrait of two beautiful impressive hunting hound dogs one is a dark rich liver colour and the second is light tan coloured set in a rather pretty striking winter snow covered open moors landscape, some bare vegetation is peeking out of the snow in places. Both of the dogs are in such a fascinating position, there tails are high with heads low and are close packed together, both are panting with such strong facial expressions, with eyes focused looking intently to the left as they have both spotted the prey.

This artwork has an exciting Christmas feel to it with the snow you can see in the background of this fabulous painting.

Signed bottom corner by the known listed British artist Robert Henry Roe (1822-1905).

Circa late 19th century dated 84 for 1884 Victorian era.

Set in original gilt frame.

Robert Henry Roe was a known listed British 19th Century painter who was born in 1822 he died in the year 1905. Robert Henry Roe's work has sold at auctions around the world, with auction estimates & sold prices fetching up to $4,650 for Eagles at Oban at Christies in 2002. His works of art have also been displayed in art galleries & museums around the would such as Glasgow Life museum.

Provenance from the personal art of collection the late Christina Clarke of Elsenham Place, Bishop`s Stortford, Hertfordshire & now presently in the collection of Cheshire Antiques Consultant.

Sheets of Robert Henry Roe other sketches of animal horse and dog heads are housed in the

Victoria & Albert Museum.
