Drawing Of A Ship The General Gordon Of London

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: Prometheus Antiques

A charming ship portrait in coloured pastels or crayons. The ship is the General Gordon of London under full sail. The work is in some ways quite naļve and primitive and is likely to have been done by a child copying an image from a book or newspaper. The drawing is in good condition with the odd mark to the paper. The very unusual faux maple frame is the original and of the period though the work has been refitted at some point. The whole has a great folk-art look and is ready to hang. C.1900.

Overall sizes in inches including frame: 24 ½ by 20
