A beautiful miniature oil on board landscape scene. The oil depicts in miniature a complete landscape with a river and a bridge over it, figures along the path and a village in the distance. The work is highly competent and is signed by monogram to the lower left and dated 1878. It is possible that the monogram is for John Crawford Wintour 1825-1882. The work is in excellent condition. The frame is a modern antiqued one that works very well with the piece. The whole is a wonderful work in miniature and is ready to hang.
