Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Victorian landscape watercolours were produced during the 19th century in Britain, characterised by detailed topographical depictions of natural scenery, naturalistic light, and precise brushwork on paper.

Artists used water-soluble pigments applied to heavy cotton rag paper, often bound with gum arabic. Frames were constructed from carved timber coated with gesso and decorated with leaf gilding.

Authentic period pieces often feature signatures or monograms, characteristic age-related toning or foxing on paper, period-correct framing labels, and evidence of hand-carved or moulded gesso frames.

Watercolours must be displayed away from direct sunlight behind UV-filtering glass to prevent pigment fading. Maintain stable humidity levels and ensure acid-free mount boards are used to prevent discolouration.

This type of artwork works well when positioned above a console table or sideboard, incorporated into a mixed-era gallery wall, or hung within a traditional panelled room.
