George III Welsh 2 Part Dresser

18th century
Description

Circa 1780. A late George III oak and mahogany inlaid two part dresser, possibly from Denbighshire. The top with moulded cornice and stylish shaped frieze and solid board back, with 3 shelves, each with an oak moulded facings, with two small cupboards with a neat sized drawer beneath. The solid top in quarter sawn oak with a simple moulded fore edge front, the base with a bank of elegant drawers, each with cast brass and pierced handled with an elegant escutcheon, solid oak with mahogany cross banding with a slight canting on the inlay in the corners, flanked by a pair of cupboards, resting on bracket feet in the corners and shaped feet in the center. Excellent colour and patination.
