Paul Philippe (Polish, 1870 ~ 1930) Born in Thorn in Poland, He became a pupil of Antonin Larroux when he moved to Paris. He exhibited with success at all the French salons. Philippe worked in both the Art Nouveau and Art Deco styles; working in bronze, bronze and ivory and pure ivory his figures are sought after worldwide by collectors. Amongst his most recognised works are Le Reveil – the Awakening, Russian Dancer and ‘Radha’

Art Deco (1920-1930s) is a style of decorative arts which first emerged in France, characterised by its geometric style. Art Deco was the successor to Art Nouveau, and a key differentiator is the influence of cubism associated with iconic artists like Pablo Picasso. Deco influenced architectural design, such as the Chrysler Building in New York, furniture, jewellery, fashion, cars and even domestic objects such as vacuum cleaners. René Jules Lalique is considered one of the key influencers of the art deco movement. After a successful career making jewellery in the art nouveau style, he started to make press-moulded, glass vases in his factory in the Alsace region of France.

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.
