A tight blanket of dense clouds hover as light flickers from puddles of trodden earth. The partially bereft branches indicate the season, their wind-battered forms buried in foliage.
Hulk Junior treasured the British countryside. Its transient weather, damp autumnal hikes, twisting country tracks and pastoral idylls. He held a particular fondness for Autumn.
Signed/dated lower right and held within a later swept frame.
