Artist Biography The known artist John William Schofield RBA RI was British and was born in the year 1865 in Yorkshire and he died in 1944. His paintings have sold in numerous auctions around the world for example like in Christie’s. He was well known for his portrait works. He attended the Westminster School of Art and spend most of time in the South of England, he exhibited a selection of his works at the Royal Academy & also in the Royal Society of British artists.

The front painting surface in fair condition, having various craquelure, scuffs, some paint loss and staining in places, the canvas has been relined and had some restoration repairs to a couple of tears and some paint touch ups, the frame has various wear, with some paint loss, stains, chips, dust commensurate with usage & age.
