Prometheus Antiques has dated this piece to the 1880s.
The work is signed and titled to the lower edge and has been obscured by the later mount, although all the details have been included on this mount. The piece is in excellent condition and the relatively modern frame and mount work very well. The artist Alfred Mayhew Williams is not well known although he did exhibit and lived in London, he seems to have been more associated with engraving hence it is most likely this was a commissioned piece by a proud owner. This is a great decorative work with huge amounts of charm and appeal. C.1880.
