Vincent Clare lived in Southgate, London, although was known to have exhibited at the Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool between 1888 and 1897.
Vincent Clare's most desirable compositions are his floral and birds egg subjects, and such pieces are recognised as his strong point, with this particular painting being a good example.
