What is a breakfast table?

A breakfast table is a smaller, often circular dining table traditionally used for informal morning meals in private rooms. Many nineteenth-century examples feature tilt-top mechanisms so the surface could be stored against a wall when the room was needed for other purposes.

How do I seat guests around a round table?

Round tables remove the traditional hierarchy of the head of the table, ensuring every guest sits equidistant from the centre. Measure the diameter of the table and allow sufficient clearance around the perimeter for chairs and comfortable movement.

Are these tables suitable for modern dining rooms?

Their compact footprint makes circular tables ideal for contemporary spaces, encouraging natural conversation and effortless interaction. Extendable models provide flexibility, allowing you to increase surface area when hosting larger gatherings.

How do I care for antique timber surfaces?

Maintain polished wood surfaces by dusting regularly with a soft cloth and avoiding direct exposure to strong sunlight or excessive moisture. Applying natural beeswax periodically helps nourish the grain and protects the patina accumulated over decades of use.
