How do I care for antique leather?

Historic leather requires gentle conditioning to maintain flexibility and prevent the hide from drying out over decades of use. Avoid direct sunlight and harsh cleaning chemicals to preserve the original surface. Regular dusting with a soft cloth keeps the material clean. Professional leather balms help maintain the depth of colour in hand-dyed examples.
