What sizes do these beds come in?

The selection includes single, small double, double, king size, and super king formats to suit various bedroom dimensions. Many single frames are designed to join together if required. Dimensions often follow historical sizing standards, so checking precise measurements ensures modern mattresses fit the frame correctly.

Are these beds easy to assemble?

Most pieces utilise traditional slot-in iron frame connections that lock together securely without complex modern hardware. This design allows the headboard, footboard, and side rails to be separated for transport. Assistance is recommended during assembly due to the substantial weight of the cast iron and brass components.

How do I care for brass and iron?

Painted iron surfaces require gentle dusting and protection from moisture to prevent rust formation. Brass parts can be polished periodically or left with a natural patinated finish depending on personal preference. Harsh chemical abrasives should be avoided to preserve original finishes and maker details.

Can modern mattresses fit these frames?

Standard modern mattress sizes generally correspond to the listed double and king dimensions, though historical proportions can vary slightly. Adding appropriate modern slat bases ensures proper support for contemporary mattresses. Verifying internal width and length measurements before purchase guarantees compatibility.
