Regency furniture, spanning roughly from 1811 to 1820, is characterised by classical symmetry, classical revival motifs inspired by ancient Greece and Rome, and the prominent use of dark timbers such as mahogany and rosewood.

These tables were typically crafted from dense hardwoods like mahogany, often featuring secondary woods such as oak or pine, and frequently incorporated decorativeveneers, brass hardware, and leather writing surfaces.

Authentic pieces exhibit period-appropriate joinery such as hand-cut dovetails, traditional hand-turned or carved components, genuine patina on the wood and metal, and absence of modern machine marks.

An antique tiered table serves as a functional accent piece next to a sofa or armchair, providing multiple surfaces for lamps, books, and decorative objects while adding historical warmth to modern spaces.

Preserve the wood by keeping it away from direct sunlight and heat sources, dusting regularly with a dry cloth, and occasionally applying high-quality beeswax to nourish the finish rather than using modern silicone polishes.
