We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

The Regency style spans roughly from 1811 to 1820, characterised by classical proportions, inspiration from ancient Greece and Rome, and the use of dark woods such as mahogany and rosewood.

Pieces from this era typically feature solid mahogany or flame mahogany veneers applied to secondary woods like pine or oak, joined with traditional dovetail joints and finished with hand-turned or carved ornamentation.

Authentic pieces exhibit period-appropriate construction techniques such as hand-cut dovetailing, patination consistent with age, authentic brass hardware, and secondary timbers typical of the 19th century.

Pairing a dark wood antique cabinet with contemporary minimalist furnishings creates a striking contrast, allowing the historical craftsmanship to serve as a focal point in a study or living space.

Maintain mahogany furniture by keeping it away from direct sunlight and heating vents to prevent veneer cracking, and treat it periodically with traditional beeswax rather than modern silicone polishes.
