Description

Japanese Vintage Showa Bronze Study of Nude Female by noted Japanese sculptor Takashi Shimizu (1897-1981). Signed by the artist. Measures 31cm high x 16.5cm wide, weight 2.7kg

Shimizu was born in Hara-mura (Nagano Province) and studied painting in France where he met famous sculptor Antoine Bourdelle (1861-1929) and decided to become a sculptor.

Excellent condition and patina.
