Japanese Meiji (19thC) boxwood netsuke of a wolf, the emaciated animal seated on its haunches and biting into a large human skull, its tail neatly tucker underneath its body. Eyes are inlaid in bone and horn. Signed Minkoku. Size 4.7cm.
