Description

Japanese Edo boxwood goat netsuke signed Kokei. Beautiful carving from a highly rated Japanese master carver. Kokei lived and worked at Kuwana, Ise Province, and was famed for his pieces in boxwood of animals of the Zodiac during the 18th and early 19th centuries. Has old repair to a leg (see photo), hence the price. Measures 4cm high x 4cm long x 3cm deep.

Good condition and lovely patina.
