Well-cast larger-scale bronze statue , cast and signed by the Barbedienne foundry , Paris , France . The reverso also bears the seal stamp mark of Achilles Collas whose invention allowed the accurate reduction in scale of monumental classical sculptures manufactured in partnership with the foundry of Ferdinand Barbedienne.

The marble Hellenistic statue from the 1st Century BC which itself is a copy of a bronze Greek sculpture, is housed the galleries of the Uffizi Museum, Florence Italy . Recorded in the collection at Villa Medici , Rome in 1638.
In excellent original condition with only minor highlights to the rich ‘chocolate’ brown patina. Mounted on an integral shaped-front plinth base .
