Japanese parcel-gilt bronze figure, Meiji period, by Miyao Zo, in two colours of bronze and gilt with a samurai with a flaming torch above his head and a katana about to be drawn, his jacket decorated with flowers in temples and birds to his legs, the details embellished with gilt, signature plaque on the back of the leg Miyao Zo, on a hardwood base with four bracket feet decorated in gold hiramaki-e.
