Louis Riché (Paris, 1877 - 1949) large bronze hunting hound, in stalking pose, with gren verdigris patina, circa 1900.

Original foundry cast using the lost wax casting process.

Signed in cast by the artist, and impressed marks 'BRONZE', 'FRANCE'.

Louis Riché first exhibited at the Salon in Paris in 1896 at the age of nineteen. He concentrated on animal subjects gaining renown for his portrayals of dogs.

Riché continued to exhibit at the Salon except for the interruptions of both World Wars, working mostly with the highly respected Thiebault Freres foundry.
