Description

An excellent late19th century bronze study of the Borghese Gladiotor. The original life size statue was created at Ephesus about 100 BC, now on display at the Louvre. Superb original dark brown patination incised to the base....'Louvre, Paris'.
This particular sculpture was presented to Snapethorpe School in 1935 and bears an inscription as such to the bronze platform.
Excellent marble base in super condition.
14.5 inches tall including base.
