A excellent quality and LARGE Austrian cold-painted BRONZE STAG in beautiful original condition. This impressive “Imperial” stag*, mounted on its integral bronze base, is depicted roaring as he descends a hill. Very fine condition with its original paintwork intact. Apparently unsigned, it bears all the hallmarks of Franz Xavier Bergmann. 13.5ins wide; 10ins high. (34x25cms). Weighs an impressive 4.9kgs (10.78lbs!)

* A stag with 14 points (i.e. 7 to each antler) is called an “Imperial”; one with 12 points a “Royal” and one with 16 points, a “Monarch”.
