Fine Victorian Animal Embossed Silver Milk Jug

A very fine and beautifully embossed Victorian solid silver Milk Jug. The body has a neat border protruding from the centre of the jug. All around the body, different animals are embossed wonderfully and sits on three Lion mask feet.. A neatly designed loop handle is attached to one side. Very clear hallmarks are visible on one side of the jug for the London Assay Office with a date mark for 1897 and Lion Passant indicating the finest sterling silver and silver makers marks for the silversmith Wakely & Wheeler.
 
   
 
Lovely proportions, this jug feels nice when picked up by the handle .It stands firm and straight! The embossing is exceptional!
