Large and unusual carved wood African Yoruba tribal statue,c1910.This is a heavy and impressive piece depicting a central female figure holding 2 large snakes with 2 smaller female figures at her feet. Most probably a fertility statue it is beautifully carved in relief . This is a highly decorative and impressive tribal piece which would display well in a traditional or modern setting.
