Signed Kampf to the base.

Depth - 10.9 cm, 4 1/4”.
Condition - Excellent. No repair.
Léopold Eugène Kampf was born in 1822.
He used his experience of military life to create detailed sculptures of military figures. Kampf exhibited at the Paris Salon and many of his works were made at the Alfred Daubrée foundry. He produced a bronze bust for the tomb of Affry de la Monnaye, at the Père-Lachaise Cemetery.
The Museum of Decorative Arts, Paris, holds a further example of his work.
