Description

This a beautiful hand carved figure of Guanyin in a wonderful range of laquered colours dating from the mid 19th century, circa 1850. The piece is most unusual for its decoration which incudes red and green lacquer as well as a lovely deep teal blue to the back. The realistically modelled figure is seated on a lotus throne and has flesh tones, with the body beautifully gilded as well as being inlaid with micro mosaic glass pieces. This is in super condition overall and is a nice size measuring 31 cms high and 16 cms in diameter at the base.
