Description

A fine quality late 19th century Meiji period Japanese bronze elephant and tiger group by the Japanese animalier sculptor Genryusai Seiya.

This bronze depicts a finely chased elephant with trunk aloft as he tries to fight off his attackers, one tiger on his back, the other at his feet, the tigers finely patinated to create the stripes of the animals, with artist seal to underside.

This bronze is in excellent condition for age, is of stable construction and can go straight into a home or collection.
