Huge 38" French Bronze Hunter & Lioness by Focht C1920-30

Huge original French art deco sculpture of a hunter attacking a Lioness with spear in hand by Frederic Focht (French, b1879). Circa 1920-30.

The hunter sits on top of a broken tree, ready to lance a prowling lioness.

Produced using the lost wax process. Mounted on a Belgian black marble base.

Inscribed 'F. FOCHT' in cast.

Lovely dark brown bronze patina. Very fine casting detail.

Condition: Very good original condition. One or two minor edge chips to the marble.
