French 19thc Fine Quality Bronze Figure of Venus nursing a Child, Possibly Cupid

A French late 19th century fine quality bronze figure of Venus nursing a child we believe to be Cupid, the bronze having good patination and being in the Classical style signed to the base 'ProThaud'.

Venus is depicted classically draped nursing Cupid and is seated on a plinth with cherub/Cupid decoration around the top.

In Classical mythology Cupid is often portrayed as the son of the Goddess of Love, Venus.

This bronze is in excellent condition for age and can go straight into a home or collection.
