The figure stood next to an impluvium , a basin to collect rain-water, at villa "Casa del Fauno"

The original now in the Museo Nazionale,Naples , Italy.
Portrayed dancing in exhultation , the horned and tailed figure stands upon an integral square plinth base.
Produced in Italy during the late C19th, probably in Naples, as a souvenir for wealthy tourists who visited the ancient sites and sights.
