Art Deco Sculpture of a Lioness Drinking

1920 - 1940
Description

A beautiful Art Deco spelter study of a lioness drinking signed by the renowned animalier Rochard. Irenee Rochard specialized in animal studies and this superb example captures the elegance and grace of the lioness as she pauses to drink at a watering hole. The sculpture has a wonderful patination and colour and is further dramatised by the polished black marble base, which takes on the reflective appearance of water. There are some very minor chips to the base, which can be seen in the photographs. A stunning Art Deco sculpture to add drama and style to any interior.
