Well-cast ,good-scale version of the famous image of the seated boy in intense concentrated focus attempting to remove a thorn from the bottom of his foot. Raised on a 'Levanto Rosso' and black marble circular plinth base in the style of Benedetto Boschetti , the celebrated foundry and marble sculptors of C19th Rome . Fitted with a bronze handle to base which originally turned the sculpture on revolving pin , but this mechanism is now lacking. Good consistent dark patination , minor chips to edges of marble base.
